Try the Beast Up Experiment!
EVERYONE wants to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, so, let’s try an experiment……the Beast Up Experiment!
Exercise:
The main program for this experiment is BODY BEAST but with slight changes. I’m skipping the leg days! What, skip the leg days?! Yep, skipping them which gives me an extra rest day each week. But, I’m not skipping legs completely. Instead, I’m adding some INSANITY MAX Interval Training and some Steady State Cardio to each training day. (Specifically, the 20 minute INSANITY FAST AND FURIOUS workout and 10 minutes on a Precor Elliptical.) By the way, I’m working out in the evening.
I am tracking my workouts with the BEST BODY BEAST WORKOUT SHEETS ever!
Diet:
I’m experimenting with my eating schedule too! I’m breaking all the rules! First, I’m fasting for approximately 14 hours a day which means I am skipping breakfast. Second, I’m only eating 3 meals a day. I told you I’m breaking all the rules. I’ll be eating approximately 25% of my calories around noon, another 25% 3-4 hours later and then 50% of my calories either post-workout or a couple of hours before bed. Each day I’m in a caloric deficit but on the training days I’m having the P90X Results & Recovery drink which is a little boost of calories. Of course, Chocolate Shakeology shakes are going to be a big part of this experiment!

Diet:
I am eating 5 meals a day for maintenance. I am following the guidelines of the P90X2 Nutrition Plan and eating about 2,200 calories. I am eating ~400 calories for each meal and have a Results & Recovery drink. Every day, I am faithfully drinking my Shakeology (with non-dairy almond beverage), taking my ActiVit and continuing to stay away from fried foods, fast food restaurants, processed foods and junk food.
Exercise:
I am pushing play 6 days a week and BRINGING IT…AGAIN! with P90X2! It is a highly anticipated 90 day program that I have been wanting to complete!

Am I getting results? YES! I am getting faster and stronger. Not only that, but my balance has improved immensely!

Diet:
I am eating 5 meals a day but with a slight caloric intake deficit to maximize fat loss. I am following the guidelines of the RevAbs Nutrition Plan and eating about 1,700 calories. But, instead of eating 3 larger meals and 2 small snacks, I am eating ~300 calories for each meal and have a Results & Recovery drink. Every day, I am faithfully drinking my Shakeology (with non-dairy almond beverage), taking my ActiVit and continuing to stay away from fried foods, fast food restaurants, processed foods and junk food.

Diet:
I have actually gotten used to many of the guidelines from the INSANITY: THE ASYLUM GET SHREDDED Plan like the non-dairy guideline and the tapering of carbohydrates and calories. I am continuing this until I jump into RevAbs. Every day, I am faithfully drinking my Shakeology (with non-dairy almond beverage), taking my ActiVit and continuing to stay away from fried foods, fast food restaurants, processed foods and junk food, as well as, gulping down my Results & Recovery Formula after every workout.
Exercise:
For the next couple of weeks, I am following the optional Recovery week from INSANITY: THE ASYLUM program. I am really looking forward to starting RevAbs on August 1st.

I am eating 5 meals a day but with a caloric intake deficit to maximize fat loss. I am following the guidelines of the INSANITY: THE ASYLUM GET SHREDDED Plan and eating the 1,800 calorie meal plan. Cutting out dairy will be difficult, but it is one of the principles of this nutrition program. Tapering carbs throughout the day is also another aspect of this plan. Every day, I am faithfully drinking my Shakeology (with non-dairy almond beverage), taking my ActiVit and continuing to stay away from fried foods, fast food restaurants, processed foods and junk food, as well as, gulping down my Results & Recovery Formula after every workout.

For 30 days, I am pushing play and following the INSANITY: THE ASYLUM program. This is THE most difficult program that Beachbody offers.

Results:
Am I getting results? I completed the FINAL Fit Test for INSANITY: THE ASYLUM and am very proud of the results! Even though physically there was not a drastic change in my body in the 30 days, I did lose 1% body fat and 0.25″ on my waist AND I am faster and stronger! I am also starting to see the beginnings of a six pack for the first time in my life which is exciting!

Diet:
I am eating 5 meals a day to attain my caloric intake at maintenance level and have a macronutrient profile target of 40/40/20 (40% protein/40% carbohydrate/20% fat). Every day, I am faithfully drinking my Shakeology, taking my P90X Peak Health Formula, continuing to stay away from fried foods, fast food restaurants, processed foods and junk food, as well as, slamming down my Results & Recovery Formula after every workout.
- I followed the guidelines of a Shakeology Cleanse during the last 3 days of my Recovery Week. (I lost 5 pounds in these last 3 days!)
Exercise:
I am pushing play 6 days a week following a P90X/INSANITY Hybrid schedule. I am focusing on 6-10 reps during the P90X workouts for a prioritization on hypertrophy and just DIGGING DEEPER for the INSANITY workouts! Two of the best workouts ever made, joined together to GET RESULTS! “I’m smilin’ because I love it!”
Results:
Did I get results? You better believe it! It is pretty amazing how much difference there is in the 90 days. I am actually suprised at the results. I lost 7.6 pounds, 6.25 inces and 1.3% of body fat in 90 days. The largest loss of inches was in my waist which dropped 1.75 inces. The funny thing is that both arms stayed at the same measurement (unflexed and at my side), but you can definitely tell that there was a composition change. PICTURES ARE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS!
