The Elite Nutrition guide is designed to power your body through the most intense workouts of your life, the INSANITY Workout Schedule! It is a plan that will teach you how to each healthy for the duration of INSANITY and for the rest of your life.
The Elite Nutrition guide focuses on eating 5 meals a day. All the meals contain about the same number of calories. This frequent eating is optimal for your metablism and provides stamina for your intense workouts.
Each meal listed is around 40% protein, 40% carbohydrate, and 20% fat. (This may look familiar, this is the same macronutrient profile as Phase 2: Energy Booster in the P90X Nutrition Plan.) Remember, this is more of a well-rounded, long-term (Sustainable! This is a lifestyle change, right?), sensible eating plan. This plan can be used as long as you like.
OK, so how many calories should you be eating? Download the Excel spreadsheet that calculates your caloric needs. The Excel file also has an example meal plan and a list of 100 and 200 calorie food blocks. Remember to keep hydrated, DRINK WATER, because you WILL sweat buckets with INSANITY.
What time of day should you workout? This is highly individualized. DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. I personally recommend working out first thing in the morning so that you can focus on nutrition the rest of the day. I drink about 1/3 of the P90X Results & Recovery Formula just before starting my workouts, sip on it during the workout and then guzzle what is left.
