Yes, washing fruits and vegetables with water will remove pesticide residue. But did you know that you can REALLY rid your produce of bacteria and viruses by cleaning them with something else?
Vinegar! A vinegar solution to be exact. Studies have found that scrubbing produce with one part white vinegar to three parts water reduces bacteria by 90 percent and viruses by 95 percent! (White vinegar is useful for pretty much EVERYTHING!)
Prepare a spray bottle with the solution and keep it next to your sink to make this an easy step in meal prep.
Oh, and don’t forget to rinse with water afterward! (You don’t want to forget that step!)
