“Today is about progress, not perfection.”

Good thing, because my form suffered and I had to take quite a few quick breaks.

On the schedule for today was TOTAL BODY CIRCUIT, which is cardio-based strength workout.

Shaun T has us moving from muscle group to muscle group and it is a workout that makes you sweat!

FOCUS T25 – ALPHA CYCLE – TOTAL BODY CIRCUIT: RESULTS

Again, my heart rate was pretty high throughout the workout.

It is clear from the chart below that there is a circuit affect in the workout, with the heart rate coming down a little and then back up.

And because my breathing wasn’t syncing with the contractions of the moves, I had to take quite a few quick breaks to catch my breath.

It is very important to keep your breathing under control and in sync with the moves.

Here’s what my heart was doing during the workout.

Some of the moves are familiar, but we get into different lunges and plank moves in this workout.

Right when you are about to give out with one muscle group, Shaun T moves on to another one.

Post-workout I had a delicious shake consisting of:
– 1.5 cups water
– 1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
– 1 banana
– 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter
– lots of ice

Today’s workout, SPEED 1.0, is the foundation of the Speed workouts in the FOCUS T25 program.

The focus of this workout is on stretching and stability, but, believe me, there is plenty of sweating too!

Oh, and there is some quick foot work that will take time to master.

Even though the intensity of Speed 1.0 is not as high as Cardio, I burned almost as many calories.

You’ll see in the chart below that Speed 1.0 is more of an interval workout.

Those dips in the heart rate are from the stretching and stability parts of the workout.

As I mentioned in the end of the video, I’m having a Shakeology shake after each workout.

In each of my shakes I’m making sure I add some fruit for some healthy carbs.

Today’s post-workout shake was:
– 1.5 cups water

The most difficult parts of the workout for me were the High Switch Kicks and Pivot Lunge with the Floor Touch.

It was a good start to the program.

I wasn’t exhausted but I know I worked hard.

To refuel I needed some protein and lots of good carbs. My post-workout meal was:
– 1.5 cups water
– 1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology
– 1 cup of pineapple chunks
– lots of ice
