Ultimate Reset Day 23, well, continuing the guidelines of the Ultimate Reset anyway. Following the guidelines with no meat or dairy has become habit. But throwing in some workouts is culture shock. Find out how the day progressed following the Ultimate Reset guidelines…
Ultimate Reset – THE JOURNEY CONTINUES – Day 23
Day 23 of following the Ultimate Reset guidelines. I started the day with a large glass of distilled water. 30 minutes later I enjoyed a vegan Tropical Strawberry Shakeology with watermelon! I’m still feeling really well. I can feel yesterday’s INSANITY workout but I’m not very sore.
I want to RESET my body with the Ultimate Reset!
I had the girls while my wife and son went to the orthodontist. Today was the day for my son to get his braces. Since they were out, my lovely wife called and asked if I wanted some Chipotle! THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT! So, again, I enjoyed a Chipotle vegetarian burrito bol. I literally could eat this EVERY DAY! This one I didn’t have to share, it was all mine since she got her own vegetarian burrito bol!
When snack time came around I had planned on having some fruit. But we made a lot of oatmeal and there was extra, so, I had some. I added a handful of walnuts, lots of fresh blueberries and a little grade B maple syrup. Oh my, that was good!
Today was a little whacky schedule wise, so instead of working out in the late evening I worked out just before dinner time. I planned on doing some Les Mills Pump today. I plan on starting the program on June 4th and I wanted to get my body ready for the “Rep Effect”. I bumped up the weights a little from the previous time I did the Pump Challenge. I wanted to push myself. Here are the weights I used on each side of the bar.
- Squats – 20lbs
- Chest/Triceps – 25lbs
- Legs/Back – 2olbs
- Lunges – 10lbs
- Shoulders – 10lbs
After Les Mills Pump – Pump Challenge, I added some push-ups. So I did intervals of 4 sets of 10 push-ups, decline push-ups, standard push-ups, decline push-ups and then one more set of standard push-ups. I wanted to do more, but every muscle in my body was giving out!
I could barely climb the four steps into the house from the garage. I guess I understand why you aren’t supposed to workout intensely during the Ultimate Reset or the week after the Ultimate Reset!
I was SERIOUSLY feeling the REP EFFECT! I had to sit down for at least 10 minutes so that I could function! I wanted to eat something but I had NO ENERGY LEFT to make dinner. I mustered up just enough energy to slowly make it to the kitchen and make a vegan Tropical Strawberry Shakeology shake with some banana. I felt a little better but every muscle in my body wanted to give out. As a side note, bananas aren’t allowed during the Ultimate Reset because they are high on the glycemic index, but they are perfect for after a workout.
A couple of hours later I made my dinner. I warmed up the leftovers of the Ultimate Reset meal of brown rice and Sweet Potato and Roasted Red Bell Pepper Bisque. I also roasted some more asparagus. That hit the spot and there was NO WAY I could have done that just hours before. Did I mention how much I love that Ultimate Reset meal!
So that’s how Day 23 of the Ultimate Reset went. Introducing Les Mills Pump into the mix was an eye opener! This program is INTENSE!
